A Stop in the Countryside on the Planes, Trains and Automobiles Blog Hop

Welcome back again.  The Island Batik Ambassadors have certainly been globe trotting!  On this, the last stop for Tamarinis, I thought a nice pieceful (ha ha - get the pun....pieceful instead of peaceful.....yeah, I am easily amused.....) stop in the countryside would be refreshing.

On this trip, I'm working with the luscious Tuscany Sun collection - yummy, right?  And I thought it was the perfect opportunity to give my "Coneflower" pattern a much needed refresh with six of the fabrics from this wonderful collection.  While I did like the first version (some of you may recognize it from my envelope pillow tutorial), it didn't have enough contrast.  Tuscany Sun - problem solved!

This project, a full table set (only the table runner is pictured here) is wonderfully quick and easy.  It is quilt as you go (gotta LOVE that!), and has fusible and dimensional appliqué, all enhanced by the fabulous wool threads from Aurifil.  Table runner done (yep, bound and everything!), placemats and pillow wrap still left to do.  

What - that's it, you're asking?  Well, yes.....deadlines all seem to come at once.  So this is a thankful brief post. A fun project - an easy pattern.  And hopefully an improvement on the first version.
