Coastal Mist Blog Hop - Let the Fun Begin!

Welcome to my blog (if you're new to Tamarinis), and to the Coastal Mist Blog Hop! Over the next few days, you'll be seeing a ton of wonderful eye candy, fun projects, and chances to win some wonderful prizes. I was lucky enough to have several talented designers work with me on creating a blog hop that not only showcases the luscious Coastal Mist line from Island Batik, but also highlight the always awesome Aurifil thread line AND demonstrate the flexibility of this great line.

I'm starting things off - and I wanted to share with you some of the projects I created especially to show off this line.

First up - Boho Bliss, my new Block of the Month. And I'm proud to say, thanks to my talented pattern testers and technical editors (thanks, Allison, Kari, and Linda!), the patterns are ready and available! Boho Bliss features 10 different 16" blocks, each with it's own fused applique motifs and pieced block motifs, 2 spacer blocks, and a simple border with a bit more fused applique. Truly a labor of love, this block of the month offers hours of stitching pleasure.

And then there's Tartary - a wonderfully simple, modern pattern perfect for beginners and experienced quilters alike. I took the original grey and black version and softened it with some welcoming greens and creams. Looking for a project for the male in your life? Tartary could be it!

Last but not least is Monkey Bread, designed for beginners, but fun for everyone! With beginners in mind, I softened the original bright version with soft colors and low contrast to create a soothing, softer version of Monkey Bread - perfect as a crib quilt or a wall hanging.
