Introducing
Batiks Go Retro
I'm thrilled to announce my first fabric collection, Batiks Go Retro, done with the absolutely fabulous folks at Island Batik. Let me introduce you to my new little lovelies!
The inspiration - as you may have guessed from the name - were atomic images from the 1950s. No, I wasn't alive then (just barely) - but I do have a deep love of those awesome shapes. Can man conquer space and fly to the moon. Why, yes you can! Can we have robots clean our house and prepare our food (hello, Jetsons!). Why, yes we can!
I tried to capture the spirit of possibility and the sense of fun that those shapes and times embraced. In the collection, you'll find awesome little atomic tvs, of course the iconic wedges, some free wheeling flowers, and of course the sunburst that was practically a required decorating element in every home.
The patterns echo that same sense of fun, and offer a variety of techniques, from paper piecing to traditional piecing, from template to faux curves. Something for everyone!
Coming to Market? Wonderful!
