Another week - and another block! This week's block is the Great Divide - and I think you can see where the name comes from, am I right? If you said it was inspired by the Continental Divide, you'd be right!
I first saw the Continental Divide (live and in person) a few years ago, standing at the top of a mountain, about to ski down the other side. I'll never forget the majestic sight. I felt so small, so minor, and so very awed by the sheer majesty, scope, size and beauty of our wonderful country. The air was crisp and quiet, the snow so white, the sky so blue - and the mountains seemed to stretch forever.
This week you get the chance to create your own Continental Divide with two different size Delectable Mountain blocks!
Your fabric pull this week? Background (of course!), Dark Purple, Purple, Very Dark Green, Dark Green and Medium Dark Green.
Don't forget to check out Kate's blog to see her version of the Great Divide blocks as well!
But wait....there's MORE! What's the deal with this stack of humbly awesome HSTs? Come see me Saturday, February 23rd, at 5:00pm on my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/tamarinis) and I'll show you how you can create these adorable little bonus HSTs when you work on piecing your Great Divide blocks!
But really what you want to know is.....where do I go to get my block? Click the link below!
We do have a give away this week! The wonderful folks at Aurifil are giving two lucky winners a fabulous collection of threads from my Florida Oranges collection! I know - I'm a little jealous already! To win, please use the Gleam widget below to leave a comment and enter through my social media platforms. Good luck!
A couple of things to be aware of:
- You will be directed to my website OR to Kate's website to download your free block each week (remember that access expires one week from release!).
- So that we can support the downloads, they are products. What's the deal with that? Well, it means that you will need to put in your name and email address, so that the block download can be emailed to you. Without that step, if you ran into a problem with a download, we could not troubleshoot because we wouldn't have any info to follow. Rest assured, we are NOT using your name/email for anything other than to send you the free block.
- Miss previous weeks' blocks? Not to worry! You can purchase previous weeks' blocks on my website or on Kate's website for $3.00 each.
When sharing pics of your blocks, please don't forget to tag Kate (@seamslikeadreamquilts) and I (@tamarinis) and use the hashtags #adventurequiltalong, #fatquarterquilt, and #aroadtripquilt so that we will see your amazing progress.
