My newest fabric line, Just My Type, is shipping to stores now (hey if you are a quilt shop, it's not too late - you can still order!!!). And some of my quilty pals loved the line sooooo much they stitched up some stunning quilts using the fabrics. Wanna see?
Here's the fabric. Fun, right?! I know. I'm having a hard time picking my favorite (ok, they are ALL my favorites!). Which is YOUR favorite? Hard to choose!
Ok enough of that - let's move on to the REAL eye candy - the amazing quilts! I stitched up two different quilts using Just My Type - Boundaries and Luminous.
Boundaries is a fun, stress free quilt. Why is it called Boundaries. Well, you may THINK you know where the boundary between one block and another lies, but you might be surprised! Fabric placement helps blur the line between block and background! You can find Boundaries here on my website, if you want to stitch up your own version.
And then there's Luminous. This is the latest Block of The Month design from the collaboration with the fabulous Kate Colleran of Seams Like A Dream. Yes, she made one too - in a different fabric line.
I love how the fun prints of Just My Type (typewriter keys, coffee cups, letters) all still work to create a dynamic galaxy of stars. Kate and I had a blast playing around with different star blocks, and switching up value placement to give different effects with each version. The original layout is engaging, and keeps the eye moving around the quilt.
Several shops are running a BOM program, so check with your local shop to see if they are offering it. If not, you can grab a copy of Luminous in my Pattern shop (of course!).
So enough about me - what about the other designers/
You are going to want to visit each of their blogs and websites to see not only the amazing Just My Type projects, but also all of their other amazing work.
