Now is the PERFECT time for some fresh, bright, cheerful, yummy fabrics and a fun new hop, featuring the new Tiki Punch line by Island Batik for Kate Colleran of Seams Like A Dream AND some super fun projects from a stack of talented designers!
Aren't they lovely? I know! So very very pretty and so very cheerful! And guess what?! Kate asked me to make something with them! I know! How awesome is that? Wanna see what I made?
First let me say how well the Tiki Punch line works with my Kismet Aurifil thread collection. It is PERFECT for the edge stitching and quilting I did on my charming little project. The colors are amazingly coordinated!
Just look at how great the turquoise thread works on the fun blue fabric in the background - and I adore how the 28 wt thread looks not only on the applique top stitching, but also in the quilting!
Quilting is NOT my super power, but I am thrilled with the fun shapes that resulted from the echo quilting I did around each dragonfly!
Here it is! Dragonfly Dance! I love the movement and attitude of joy that this little mini quilt. It makes me think of spring - warm sun, buzzing bees, blooming flowers, and of course the dragonflies hovering around the pond.
And guess what?! You can preorder the pattern through 1/31 for a special preorder price!!! Please visit my website to preorder.
But wait - there's more! More designers, more lovely projects, and Kate has some special giveaways for you on her blog too!
