I'm so thrilled to be able to share with you my newest line for Island Batik, Fairy Floss. If you are a lover of purple, then this is your line. It is a happy mix of modern motifs and luscious hues of purples, greens and blues.
See what I mean? Fun motifs, right?! I'm a HUGE turquoise fan. And this line has plenty of that! It's offset with a lovely opalescent green and of course purples!
Here are the fabrics up close. Which ones are your favorite? I have a hard time picking myself! Ok, ready to see the projects I stitched up using these inspiring fabrics? Let's go!
First up is my "belle of the Fairy Floss ball" - Dance of the Fairies. This paper pieced beauty is the latest in my Block of the Month offerings. It is a six month Block of the Month pattern. If a shop near you isn't running it as a block of the month program, no worries! You can purchase the full pattern here on my website.
I gave Cascade a glow up using Fairy Floss....and psst...I made a mistake that I didn't catch until AFTER it was quilted. And so it lives as an imperfect version of Cascade. Do you see the mistake? Oh - and no, the pattern doesn't have the mistake in the instructions! Like Cascade? You can find the pattern here.
Crochet also got a glow up as well. Inspired by crocheted afghans that mimic the Trip Around the World quilt patterns, bands of color are created by pairing purples (medium and dark) and blues (medium and medium dark). I LOVE how this one turned out! You can find Crochet here on the website.
Last in the lineup of Fairy Floss patterns is Pickup Sticks. I love how the geometric prints work in this pattern. If you're familiar with my patterns, you may know that Pickup Sticks is an oldie - and yes, it got a glow up too! You can find Pickup Sticks here in my Etsy shop.
I wasn't the only one working with Fairy Floss. Several designer pals worked their magic (some with projects, some digitally) with the Fairy Floss line. Be sure to visit their blogs and Instagram feeds to see their lovely work!
